Variety reported that women of color are still severely underrepresented in Hollywood, both on and off the screen. A new 2020 Hollywood Diversity Report by UCLA found that while stories centering women have grown overall, women are still few and far between in the writers’ room, especially women of color.

Ngoc Nguyen, Head of Entertainment, explained that layoffs caused by COVID-19 have rolled back recent progress.
